Chopper Spirals Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Frequented Southern California Coast
A helicopter hovering above a popular southern California shoreline suddenly started spinning wildly, eventually descending rapidly and smashing into a cluster of palm fronds as spectators observed.
Videos shared on the internet show the aircraft commencing to spiral near Huntington Beach then descending in the direction of the border of the beach, where it ends up lodged between palm trees and a set of stairs close to the coastal road.
Rescue Operation Update
Emergency responders stated five persons were transported to a medical facility comprising two individuals who were in the aircraft and were “rescued from the debris” following the crash on that day.
Three persons on the street were harmed. Information on their condition were still under review.
The cause of the crash was not yet disclosed.
